Enrico Bossan

Enrico Bossan lives and works in Padova. Professional photoreporter since 1985. He pubblished reportage and documentary on the principal italian and worldwide magazines. Member of the Veneto journalist order since 1987 and from 1992 is represented by the photo agency Contrasto.

In 1987 won the Kodak prize for the professional photography. His work were exihibited at Houston Photofest, Turin International photography biennale, Amsterdam, Arles, Milan, Rome, Thessalonicca, Tokyo and Venice.

The reportages he did around the world became books. Pechino-Parigi (1989) it's a travel from Asia to Europe following the adventurous Itala's path. Exit (1992) it's a reportage about two points of view on today's America, produced with the photographer Robert Koch. From 1998 to 2003, thanks to a collaboration with CUAMM medici con l'africa, he did some works in Africa.

However his travels are both geographical and social. He decide to explore and document the italian public healthcare, a glimpse into the patient's life, for that he will win the Premio Romeo Martinez. His interest about life and work in the caring centers carries him to develop reportage and photographic projects.

In 2000 he published Exodus, a look at the world of AIDS patients, and produced Un privilegio difficile, a black and white reportage highlighting social and sanitary cooperation in Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2002 he published Il cerchio della salute, a project that explore the healthcare in his hometown, Padua. In 2003 he highlighted forgotten positive aspects of Africans’ everyday life with èAfrica.

Bossan began expanding into new media in 2003 directing and shooting various short-movies, many of them dedicated to patients and workers in healthcare institutions.

In 2004 is professor at Padua University for the Master in Journalism. Curator for Magnum with A est de Magnum, and curator for some personal exhibition about Josef Koudelka and Elliott Erwitt in Padua.

From May 2006 is the director of Colors Magazine. In 2006 collaborates with BNL to realize, I giorni della solidarità, a photo story about Telethon activities. In the same year he published Diversamente solidale, a project about social integration for disable people. Creator of the FFF prize for Fabrica and Forma.

From June 2005 Bossan became head of the photography department in Fabrica.

In 2007 he explored the challenging balance between bodycare of soul-care with: Innovare e prendersi cura.

In 2009 with CAF, 30 anni per bene, published by Electa, he focused on everyday life of children who live in family house. Curator of the 6x6Woman exhibition. June 2010 he found E-photoreview.com. November 2010 starts with Neramadre, an installation-exhibition for the 60Th anniversary of CUAMM Medici con l'Africa. The installation comes from an artistic and creative collaboration with Aldo Cibic January 2011 exposed Bambini Rompiscatole at Pitti bimbo in Florence, in collaboration with CAF, Donna Moderna and Mediafriends.
